I’ve been using the FSUM CarPlay Adapter for a few weeks now, and it’s completely changed how I interact with my car’s infotainment system. Gone are the days of fumbling with cables—this little box magically turns my wired CarPlay into a wireless hub.
The setup was laughably easy. Plugged it into my car’s USB port (which previously only worked with wired CarPlay), waited about 20 seconds for the initial boot-up, and suddenly my iPhone connected automatically. No apps to install, no complicated pairing process—just works.
What really surprised me was the Netflix and YouTube integration. During lunch breaks at work, I can stream shows directly on my car’s display (though obviously only when parked—safety first!). The video quality is shockingly good on my car’s 8-inch screen, with minimal buffering when I have decent phone signal.
The TF card slot has become my secret weapon for road trips. I loaded up a 128GB card with movies for the kids, and now long drives are significantly quieter affairs. The adapter seamlessly switches between wireless CarPlay for navigation and the offline media when needed.
Performance has been rock solid in daily use. There’s maybe a half-second delay when skipping songs compared to wired connection, but maps and calls work flawlessly. The unit does get warm during extended use, but never hot enough to concern me.
If your car has factory wired CarPlay (like my Honda does), this is hands-down the best $100-ish upgrade you can make. It feels like getting a brand new infotainment system without the dealership price tag.
