Okay, so I just finished Ink's Second Chance and WOW. This book wrecked me in the best possible way. Rachel is hands down one of the strongest heroines I've ever read - paralyzed, kidnapped TWICE, beaten... and still sassing everyone? Queen behavior.
The emotional whiplash is real y'all. One minute I'm laughing at Ink getting roasted by Rachel, next minute I'm ugly crying over her trauma. That scene where she walks (well, wheels) into danger to save her sister? CHILLS.
Small complaint - got confused early on when Rachel called Ink 'Chains' for like two pages before switching to his real name. Almost thought my Kindle glitched! But honestly that's my only nitpick.
TW for sure - the Hernandez cartel scenes are DARK. Like 'hide-under-your-blanket' dark. But Rachel's resilience makes it worth it. And can we talk about how perfect Ink is as her grumpy protector? Their high school sweethearts-to-enemies-to-lovers arc had me SWOONING.
Already counting days until Wolf's book drops! If you can handle heavy themes with your MC romance, this series just keeps getting better.
