Let me start by saying this: the ANYCUBIC Photon Mono 4 is one of the most impressive resin printers I've used in its price range. That 10K resolution? Absolutely mind-blowing when you see the results firsthand.
The setup was a breeze - about 30 minutes from unboxing to first print. The aluminum build plate with its laser-etched design gives fantastic adhesion without making removal a nightmare. My first test print (a detailed miniature) came out with crisp edges and zero visible layer lines.
Where this printer really shines is speed. That 1.5s exposure time combined with the intelligent release system means complex prints finish significantly faster than older models I've used. Printed a full set of tabletop miniatures in about 3 hours that would've taken twice as long on my old machine.
The LighTurbo matrix light source deserves special mention - it provides such uniform curing that I haven't had a single failed print due to uneven exposure in two weeks of heavy use.
Now for the not-so-great: The plastic construction feels a bit cheap compared to all-metal competitors, especially that flimsy-feeling cover. And while Anycubic includes a screen protector, installing it bubble-free is nearly impossible - I gave up after three attempts.
The biggest pain point? Replacement vats cost $40 each and are plastic - at that price I'd expect metal construction like competitors offer. If you switch resins often, this adds up quickly.
Despite these quibbles, the print quality consistently impresses me. For hobbyists printing miniatures or detailed prototypes, the Photon Mono 4 offers professional-grade results at a consumer-friendly price point - just budget for extra vats and be prepared for some plastic-y construction.
