After using the Molten FIBA Approved Basketball for several months, I can confidently say it's one of the best mid-range basketballs I've ever owned. The 12-panel design with a two-tone orange/cream color scheme isn't just stylish - those extra panels provide incredible grip that really helps with ball control during intense games.
The synthetic cover has held up remarkably well through both indoor court sessions and rough outdoor play on concrete. Unlike some balls that wear down quickly outdoors, this Molten maintains its texture surprisingly well. The bounce is consistent and true, whether you're doing dribbling drills or taking jump shots.
I particularly love how the ball feels in my hands during shooting - it has that perfect balance between grip and smooth release off the fingertips. The butyl bladder maintains air pressure exceptionally well; I only need to pump it up about once every two weeks with regular use.
While some users mentioned the size 7 being slightly smaller than expected, I found it to be regulation size when properly inflated. The weight feels standard to me - not too light, not too heavy - just right for developing proper shooting form.
The only minor complaint is that the surface can feel a bit slick when brand new, but this improves significantly after a few uses as the ball breaks in. After about a week of regular play, the grip becomes absolutely perfect.
Compared to more expensive professional balls like the Wilson Evolution, this Molten offers about 90% of the performance at nearly half the price. It's become my go-to ball for both practice sessions and casual games with friends.
