Okay, so I picked up this book thinking it'd be another boring pool strategy guide. Boy, was I wrong! Dr. Fancher totally gets into your head (in a good way).
First off, the book doesn't teach you how to hold a cue or make bank shots. Nope. It's all about the mental game - that thing we all struggle with when we're down to the 8-ball and our hands start shaking.
What blew my mind? The whole concept of 'small motions'. It's not about being perfect every shot, but finding your rhythm in those tiny movements between shots. Game changer!
I've been playing APA league for about a year now, and after reading this (twice!), I've noticed I don't get rattled as easily when opponents try to psych me out. The breathing techniques alone were worth the price.
Weirdest thing? The lessons actually help with my golf game too. Who knew pool and golf had so much in common mentally?
Only complaint? Wish it was longer! At 140 pages, I flew through it. But hey, quality over quantity right?
Seriously, if you play pool at any level and want to stop choking on easy shots, get this book. Your future self will thank you when you're calmly running the table at your next tournament.
