After battling damp clothes and musty air in my 500 sq ft apartment, I decided to test this pint-sized dehumidifier. The first night was a revelation – waking up without that sticky humidity feeling was worth every penny! The auto-defrost feature kept it running smoothly, though I did notice it collects about half a cup of water every 8 hours in my bathroom (not quite the advertised 16oz/day).
The rainbow LED lights are fun but gimmicky – I permanently use sleep mode where it becomes nearly silent (quieter than my fridge hum). However, the auto-shutoff is frustratingly aggressive. Like other reviewers mentioned, it frequently turns off at 50% humidity and won't restart automatically, forcing me to baby-sit the touch controls.
Where it shines: My closet no longer smells like wet towels! The transparent tank makes checking moisture levels easy, and the handle lets me move it between my bedroom (nighttime) and bathroom (shower time). Just be warned – tipping it over even briefly can kill the unit as I tragically discovered.
Final verdict: Works decently for small spaces if you don't mind playing on/off switch operator. Not industrial-strength but cute enough to leave out on display.
