I was initially drawn to the Veemoon vintage door lock for its polished, heavy-duty appearance and promises of easy installation. The idea of a sturdy, reliable lock for my front door without needing extra tools sounded perfect.
However, upon unboxing, I immediately noticed the large embossed 'Public inspection and certification products. Haochang' imprint on the front plate. This industrial marking completely ruins the vintage aesthetic - it's prominently visible and impossible to remove without damaging the lock.
The unit feels surprisingly lightweight and flimsy in hand, not at all like the 'heavy duty' product described. The mechanism operates smoothly enough, but there's an undeniable cheapness to the materials that makes me question long-term durability.
While it might function adequately for a basement or storage room where looks don't matter, I wouldn't trust this as my primary door security. The mismatch between product photos (which cleverly hide these flaws) and reality is disappointing. For visible entryways where first impressions count, this lock simply doesn't deliver on its promises.
