Just finished reading 'Framed' and wow... my mind is blown. This isn't your typical true crime book - it's a deep dive into how the justice system can fail innocent people.
The stories are heartbreaking but necessary to read. One case about a man who spent 25 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit? I had to put the book down several times just to process it.
What surprised me most was how prosecutors would ignore obvious evidence of innocence just to 'win' their case. It's scary stuff that makes you question everything about our legal system.
The writing style is engaging - not too dry or academic. Grisham's sections in particular read like his legal thrillers, except this is all terrifyingly real.
Fair warning: This isn't light bedtime reading. Some nights I had to switch to something happier after a chapter because the injustice was too much.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely - but be prepared for some serious anger at the system afterwards. Might want to keep your blood pressure meds handy!
