I had high hopes for the ULXIOM Titanium HE 90240 heating element, especially with its advertised titanium alloy construction and compatibility with multiple brands like Rheem and Ecosmart. The promise of durability and low maintenance was appealing, but my experience turned into a nightmare.
Right out of the box, I noticed the plastic caps on both elements were cracked. I shrugged it off, thinking it might be minor cosmetic damage. But within a day of installation, both started leaking. The leaks weren’t just annoying—they were dangerous. One element actually caught fire, nearly setting my house ablaze. I’ve never had a water heater component fail so catastrophically.
I requested a replacement, hoping it was just a fluke. Nope. The second set had the exact same issue—cracked caps and immediate leaks. At this point, I’m convinced it’s a manufacturing defect, not just bad luck.
The worst part? Amazon’s return process is dragging out. They want me to ship back both defective sets before issuing a refund, but I can’t afford to wait—I need hot water! This whole ordeal has been stressful and expensive.
Save yourself the trouble and skip this product. The titanium alloy might sound impressive on paper, but the execution is dangerously flawed.
