I recently got my hands on the SummitLink custom body for my 1/10 scale Rustler 2WD, and I’ve got to say—it’s been a game-changer. The first thing that caught my eye was the vibrant paint job and decals, which looked even better in person than in the photos. It came ready to mount, with pre-drilled holes, so I didn’t have to fuss with alignment or painting.
Durability is where this body really shines. I’ve taken it on some rough runs, including jumps with oversized MT tires (my bad), and it’s held up surprisingly well. Unlike my old factory shell, which felt brittle, this one has a nice flex to it that seems to absorb impacts better. Even after a few nasty wheel hits, there’s no significant damage—just some minor scuffs.
The fit is spot-on for the Rustler 2WD (note: it won’t work with the 4x4 version). The rear mount hole was a tad small out of the box, but a quick fix with a reamer solved that. The white interior finish is a nice touch—it looks clean and makes it easy to spot wheel scrub.
One thing to note: after heavy bashing (and yes, even a dog bite test—thanks, Fido), the pin holes started showing some wear. It’s not a dealbreaker, but something to keep an eye on if you’re rough on your RC.
For the price, this body is a steal. It comes with extra stickers and decals (including skulls and numbers), adding extra flair. If you’re looking for a durable, good-looking upgrade for your Rustler 2WD, this is definitely worth considering.
