Okay, so I finally got my hands on the Hanes Authentic-T after hearing mixed things. Here's my honest take:
First off, the fabric is actually really nice - soft but sturdy 6-ounce cotton that doesn't feel cheap. My husband stole one of mine and now won't give it back because it's 'the perfect work shirt'. The colors stayed bright after multiple washes too.
BUT... sizing is weirdly inconsistent. I usually wear medium but had to size down - some colors fit totally different? Also the 'tagless' claim is straight up false, there's definitely a tag scratching your neck.
The Oxford Grey version (60% cotton/40% poly) is magical though - doesn't shrink, keeps its shape, perfect for skinny guys. Other colors? Not so much. One review said it felt like sandpaper and honestly... yeah some do.
Final verdict: When you get a good one, it's amazing. But quality control needs work. Maybe stick to classic colors and size down unless you want a tent!
