After using the NGTeco Time Clock for several months in my small retail business, I have some thoughts to share. First off, the fingerprint scanner works surprisingly well for most employees - it's fast and eliminates buddy punching. I love how it automatically calculates hours and exports clean Excel reports.
The physical design is sleek and mounts easily on our back office wall. Setup was a bit confusing at first (the instructions could be clearer), but once connected to WiFi through the app, adding employees was straightforward. The auto-punch feature has saved us countless headaches when employees forget to clock out.
However, there are some significant drawbacks. The app only works when connected to the same WiFi network as the device - this limitation makes remote management impossible. We've also had issues with certain employees' fingerprints not registering consistently, particularly those with dry hands or light skin tones.
Customer service has been a bright spot - when we had date system issues, Alex from support resolved it quickly over the phone. But be warned: once you hit about 25 employees, the system starts glitching more frequently with random login failures and punch time errors.
For very small businesses (under 20 employees) who need basic time tracking without monthly fees, this can work well despite its flaws. But if you need robust reporting or remote access, you might want to keep looking.
