Just got my RunCam helmet camera and took it for a spin during airsoft matches. Here's my honest take after a few weeks of use!
The Good: This thing is crazy easy to mount - the bendable tube and velcro system lets me attach it to my helmet, ear pro, even my backpack strap. The 1080p video quality is surprisingly decent for the price, especially in normal lighting conditions. Battery life is a beast - lasted through multiple games without dying.
The Okay: The app connection can be finicky (takes me 2-3 tries sometimes), and yeah, the microphone sounds like you're recording through a tin can. Not great for commentary but fine for capturing ambient sounds.
Pro Tip: Had major issues until I formatted my microSD to FAT32 (the manual doesn't mention this!). Also learned the hard way that hitting the WiFi button stops recording - not ideal mid-game!
Final Verdict: For under $100? Absolute steal compared to GoPros. Perfect if you want decent footage without breaking the bank. Just don't expect Hollywood-quality audio or stabilization.
