After weeks of research, I finally settled on this Yeoodop MP3 player, and it's been a pleasant surprise. The Android 13 system feels snappy with its 8-core processor, and the 4GB RAM keeps things running smoothly. I loaded up my 128GB Sandisk Extreme card with my music library, and the player recognized everything instantly - album art and all.
The build quality shocked me most. With its glass front/back and metal edges, it feels premium in hand. The physical buttons are satisfyingly clicky, especially that gnurled metal volume knob (though the detents make volume adjustments a bit jumpy). Bluetooth pairing was effortless with my headphones, though I did notice occasional drops when moving around - turns out it was my earbuds' fault, not the player's.
Battery life impresses me - getting through two workdays of continuous playback is no problem. The auto-shutoff feature helps conserve power overnight. While the touchscreen has slight lag (annoying for swipe codes), it's responsive enough for daily use. And that IPS display? Crisp enough to enjoy music videos during breaks.
Is it perfect? No. The cameras are mediocre at best (but who buys an MP3 player for photography?), and the included screen protector could be better. But for $80? This device punches way above its weight class - way better than those $40 junkers yet nearly as capable as $200+ boutique players.
