I had high hopes for the WORX WA0866 GPS tracker—finally, a way to protect my pricey Landroid mower from theft! But after weeks of frustration, I’m convinced this gadget is more of a paperweight than a security solution.
The biggest letdown? It only updates location when the mower is actively running. If it gets stuck (which happens often), the GPS freezes on that spot—even if someone picks it up and walks off. Once the battery dies or you power it down for maintenance, the tracker goes offline completely. You’d think a $100+ anti-theft device would, you know, work during theft scenarios.
Setup was another nightmare. The app forced me through endless loops to activate the SIM card (which Worx sneakily charges for after the first year). When I finally got it running, the GPS accuracy was laughable—showing my mower chilling in my neighbor’s yard while it sat right in front of me.
Worx’s customer service might as well be fictional. No replies to emails, no help with the bricked unit now permanently screwed into my mower. Save your money—this ‘upgrade’ actually disables your Wi-Fi features, leaving you with less functionality than before.
The only thing this tracker reliably finds? Regret.
