Okay so I've been using this Hapleby bike lock for about 2 months now and here's the real tea ☕
First off - that braided steel cable is NO JOKE. I counted the strands (yes I was that bored) and it really does have those 7x7 steel wires. Tried cutting it with my kitchen scissors just for fun (don't judge me) and yeah... not happening.
The mounting bracket is lowkey genius? Like why don't all locks have this? It clips onto my bike frame so neatly and doesn't rattle around when I'm riding. Big upgrade from my old lock that just dangled awkwardly.
Pro tip: The sliding cover actually matters! Left it out in the rain a few times and no rust issues so far. The keys turn smoothly every time - none of that jiggling nonsense some cheap locks have.
Used it for: My bike (duh), locking my skateboard at the park, and even securing a ladder in my truck bed once. That PVC coating didn't scratch any of them which was nice.
Only con? Wish it came in more colors than just black. But hey, at least thieves can't say they didn't see this chonky lock protecting my ride!
