When I first tried these postpartum pads, I was hopeful they would be as comfortable and effective as the hospital-grade ones I remembered. The softness is undeniable – they feel gentle against sensitive skin, which is a huge relief after delivery. The cotton-like material is a dream compared to some scratchy alternatives.
However, the size issue was a real letdown. Despite the description claiming 20 inches, the actual absorbent part falls short. I found myself doubling up just to get proper coverage, which defeats the purpose of a 'maximum absorbency' pad. And yes – the leakage problem is real. After just a few hours, I had to change everything.
The adhesive strip works decently for staying in place, but when you're dealing with heavy postpartum flow, you need more than just stickiness – you need actual absorption capacity where it counts. These might work okay as light bladder leakage pads later on, but for immediate postpartum needs? Not quite up to the task.
That said, if you're looking for something softer than typical bulky hospital pads and don't mind changing frequently (or layering), these could provide some comfort during those tender first days. Just keep your expectations realistic about their limitations.
