After weeks of testing the STAEDTLER Noris Jumbo stylus across multiple devices, I'm convinced this might be the best EMR stylus on the market - with a few caveats.
The triangular jumbo shape immediately stands out. While called 'jumbo', it's actually perfectly sized - thick enough for comfortable grip but not bulky. The ergonomic design means I can write for hours without hand fatigue, something I can't say about many other styluses.
Writing feel is where this shines. The nib offers just the right amount of friction - smooth but with enough resistance to feel like writing on paper. It's noticeably better than the default pens that come with most devices. The 4,096 pressure levels make line variation natural whether I'm sketching or taking notes.
The eraser is a game-changer. Unlike rubbery erasers on other styluses, this feels like a real pencil eraser - soft yet effective. It's become my go-to for quick corrections during meetings.
Battery-free operation is brilliant. No more worrying about charging or pairing - it just works when I need it. Compatibility is excellent too, working flawlessly with my Remarkable 2 and Samsung tablets (though do check their compatibility list first).
Now for the downsides: The rubbery nibs might not be for everyone - they lack the 'scratch' some artists prefer. Also, no side button means you'll need to manually switch to highlighter mode in apps.
If you're looking for a premium writing experience without premium price tag, this stylus delivers where it counts most - making digital feel analog.
