Okay, so I finally caved and bought this Mentech mini projector for our weekly Friday movie nights—best decision ever! Here’s why:
180° Rotatable Magic: We project onto a bedsheet hung between two trees (classy, I know), and the rotation feature lets us adjust angles when someone inevitably knocks into the setup. Ceiling mode = next-level lazy viewing.
Surprisingly Decent Quality: For a tiny thing, the 720P native resolution + 4K decoding holds up! Our Adam Sandler marathons look crisp enough, though full daylight is a no-go (but who watches movies at noon?).
WiFi 6 = No Buffering Tantrums: Streams Netflix/Disney+ without lag, even with 10+ devices connected to our backyard WiFi. The Android TV OS is clunky but works once you learn its quirks.
Portability Win: Literally tossed it in my tote bag for a spontaneous beach trip—paired with Bluetooth speakers, we had an instant cinema under the stars.
Cons? Meh. The built-in speaker is tinny (just use external ones), and auto-keystone sometimes overcorrects. But for $200? Zero regrets. Even survived a rogue marshmallow attack during ‘Happy Gilmore.’
P.S. Their customer service replaced my nephew’s lost remote FOR FREE. Legendary.
