Okay, so I've been using this Amazon Basics smart power strip for about a month now, and I have some THOUGHTS.
First off - the setup was stupid easy. Like, 'plug it in and Alexa immediately recognized it' easy. I renamed all the outlets to match my devices (RIP 'Outlet 4', you're now 'Nintendo Switch Charger').
The individual outlet control is GENIUS for parenting. My kids' gaming PC shuts off automatically at bedtime now. The look on their faces? Priceless. Though they've started negotiating 'just five more minutes' with Alexa instead of me.
BUT (and this is a big but) - the USB ports are straight up trolling me. They'll be charging my phone one minute, then suddenly decide they're done? Like a toddler refusing to eat vegetables. Had to buy separate charging blocks which kinda defeats the purpose.
Size-wise, it's chunkier than I expected - not exactly discreet if you're trying to hide your smart home addiction from guests.
Final verdict? Great for lamps and appliances, terrible for USB devices, amazing for passive-aggressive parenting. 7/10 would recommend with caveats.
