I've been using the Pro Art Messenger Bag for a few weeks now, and it's been a bit of a rollercoaster. At first glance, it's sleek, lightweight, and has more pockets than I know what to do with—perfect for my chaotic art supply hoard.
The expandable feature is a lifesaver when I need to cram in my 12x15" watercolor pad last-minute. But here's the catch: the expansion zipper feels flimsy, and I’ve had moments where it barely closes under pressure. If you're carrying an 11x14" sketchpad, be prepared for a tight squeeze—it’s like forcing a square peg into a round hole.
One major gripe? The smell. Out of the box, it reeked of chemicals so strong I had to air it out for days. Not exactly the 'artsy vibe' I was going for.
On the upside, the removable shoulder strap (minus the comfort pad that mysteriously vanished after three uses) makes it easy to lug around campus. And those 'numerous zipper compartments'? Genius—until you realize one pocket has a zipper line but no handle. Why?!
Would I recommend it? For $20, it’s decent if you need a basic organizer bag. But if you’re hauling expensive supplies or want durability, maybe splurge on something sturdier. My grandson loves his though—so there’s that.
