Okay y'all, let me tell you about my window film journey! I went through THREE different colors before finding the winner.
The gold? Absolute nightmare - made my house look like we were living in permanent wildfire smoke. The blue tinted everything weirdly (my sandwiches looked moldy!). Silver was the clear winner - just a light sunglasses effect without the weird color casts.
Pro tip: Order extra! You'll need overlap for installation. And splurge on fresh exacto blades - I used a new one for each window and it made ALL the difference.
The privacy is insane during daylight - even my nosy neighbor can't see in from right outside. Heat reduction blew me away too - our 1935 oven-house is actually comfortable now!
Installation is an art form though. Watch YouTube tutorials, get the right tools (that fuzzy squeegee is magic), and accept that perfection isn't happening. My windows are about 95% perfect and that's good enough!
Nighttime is a different story though - you'll definitely want curtains when it gets dark outside. But for daytime privacy and heat control? 10/10 would recommend the silver version!
