Okay, so I finally got my hands on the Mentech PanoX V3 and WOW. This thing is like having a Hollywood camera crew in your backpack (but way less annoying).
First off - the 12K photos? Insane. I took a shot of my dog chasing a frisbee and I can literally count each blade of grass in the background. My Instagram has never looked this pro.
The invisible selfie stick magic is actual sorcery. First time I saw the footage without the stick I genuinely looked around for drones. My hiking videos now look like NatGeo documentaries.
Battery life surprised me - lasted through an entire day at the beach shooting surfers. Though fair warning: that beautiful 3" touchscreen drinks battery when you're reviewing footage in sunlight.
Biggest win? The stabilization. I mounted this on my bike handlebars down some rocky trails - footage was smoother than my post-ride margarita. Horizon stayed perfectly level even when I definitely wasn't.
Only gripe? The app could be more intuitive. Took me longer to figure out the Google Maps integration than it took to hike the actual trail I was mapping. But once set up, it's awesome for geotagging adventure shots.
Seriously considering selling my DSLR now - this does 90% of what I need with 10% of the hassle. Waterproof means I can stop panicking every time it rains during shoots too!
