Alright, so I needed new brake pads for my gravel bike and stumbled upon these Jagwire ones. Let me break it down for you.
First off, they're WAY cheaper than OEM Shimano pads (which were either sold out or crazy expensive). The stopping power in dry conditions is actually pretty decent - feels about the same as the original pads to me.
However... there's definitely a difference in modulation. It's not bad, just different. Took me a couple rides to get used to the feel. Kinda like switching from your favorite coffee shop to a new one - still gets the job done but doesn't feel quite 'right' at first.
Haven't tested them in wet conditions yet (California drought problems lol), so can't speak to that. Also curious about longevity since I've only had them for about a month.
Final verdict? Solid budget option if you can't find/afford OEM pads, but I'll probably switch back to Shimano when I can. Keeping these as emergency backups though!
