Okay, so I finally tried Tape in Mud™ after hearing all the hype, and... WOW. This stuff is LEGIT. As someone who absolutely despises taping drywall joints, this product feels like cheating (in the best way possible).
First off, the time savings are insane. I knocked out a whole room in half the time it usually takes me with traditional tape methods. No more fiddling with messy paper tape or dealing with bubbles under mesh tape.
The strength is wild - I did some test patches months ago and they're holding up better than my taped joints ever did. Like, I literally can't chip it off with my putty knife anymore.
Pro tip: Mix it with hot mud for your first coat - it sets up crazy strong. Then follow up with regular compound for smooth finishing. The fibers make everything so much more forgiving if you're not a drywall pro (like me).
Only downside? You gotta mix it right - too much water and it gets soupy. But once you get the hang of it, there's no going back to tape. My drywall game just leveled up big time.
