I was really excited to try this Mermaids Starfish Pearl Waist Chain Belt—the design is absolutely adorable with its starfish, shells, and pearls. It screams beach vibes and bohemian chic, which I love. However, my excitement quickly faded when I realized how short the chain actually is.

At 140 lbs, I expected it to fit comfortably around my waist, but nope. The maximum length (40 inches) barely made it around my hips, let alone my waist. If you're above a size 6, this probably won’t work as a belt unless you have a very petite frame.

On the plus side, the detailing is pretty—the faux pearls and gold-tone metal look nice up close. Since it didn’t work as a waist chain, I tried wearing it as a long necklace instead. Surprisingly, it looked cute layered with other jewelry! The clasp held up fine for that purpose.

Durability is another issue though. One of the starfish charms fell off after minimal wear—definitely not built for daily use or heavy movement. If you're buying this for a costume or light wear (like a beach photoshoot), it might hold up okay. But if you want something sturdy for festivals or regular outings, this isn’t it.

Overall? It’s cute in theory but falls short in practicality unless you repurpose it—or have an extremely tiny waist.
