Okay, so I finally caved and got the Nest WiFi Router with a Point. Here's the tea ☕️
The Good: Setup was stupid easy - like 'I-feel-guilty-for-not-suffering' easy. The app held my hand through the whole process. Coverage? Solid. My 3-floor townhouse is now one happy WiFi bubble (though concrete floors might be a buzzkill - more on that later).
The Smart Speaker Surprise: Didn't realize the Point was basically a Google Home in disguise? Now my laundry room can play Spotify while I fold clothes. Weird flex but okay.
Speed Real Talk: Getting about 100Mbps near router, drops to 60-70 near Point. Not mind-blowing but WAY better than my old setup where my bedroom was basically a digital dead zone.
The Annoying Bits: Why can't I choose between 2.4GHz/5GHz manually? Also had some weird connection drops until I turned off my ISP's crappy modem WiFi (apparently WiFi gets jealous like an ex).
Final verdict? If your house isn't made of concrete and you're not a networking nerd who needs all the manual controls, this is a pretty sweet upgrade. Just don't expect miracles if you're rocking gigabit internet.
