If you're tired of dealing with tangled wires on flights or at the gym, the Twelve South AirFly SE is a game-changer. This tiny Bluetooth adapter lets you connect your AirPods or wireless headphones to any 3.5mm audio jack – and it actually works (unlike some other adapters I've tried).
The setup is dead simple: plug it into the airplane screen, pair your headphones, and boom – wireless movie time. I've used it on three international flights now, and the sound quality is crisp with no noticeable lag between audio and video.
Battery life is impressive too. On my last 14-hour flight from NYC to Tokyo, it lasted the entire trip with juice to spare. The USB-C charging is convenient (though fair warning – charging while using caused some buzzing noise for me too).
It's not perfect though. The pairing process can be finicky sometimes – I occasionally have to re-pair my AirPods Pro when switching devices. And while compact, it does feel a bit loose when plugged in; I'd recommend keeping it in the included pouch when not in use.
For gym rats: this thing is magic on treadmills and ellipticals with old-school headphone jacks. No more wires getting caught while you're trying to PR!
At $55, it's not cheap, but as someone who flies weekly for work, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Just remember to pack a charging cable – your AirPods will drain faster than usual when using this.
