Okay, so I just finished 'Second Chance' and wow - what a ride! This book had me hooked from page one with its mix of mystery and romance.
The setting in Lake Placid was absolutely dreamy. I could practically smell the pine trees and feel that crisp lake air while reading. The author did an amazing job making the location feel like another character in the story.
Nick and Mallory's chemistry? Off the charts! Their teenage love story turning into this intense second chance romance had me flipping pages like crazy. Though I gotta say - that rushed ending left me wanting more closure between some characters.
What really got me was Mallory's backstory. The way her home situation was described gave me actual chills. That moment when she disappears on her 18th birthday? Heartbreaking but so compelling!
While some parts felt predictable, there were enough twists to keep it interesting. And can we talk about that grandmother character? She might have been my favorite part of the whole book!
Definitely recommend if you're into emotional second-chance romances with some mystery mixed in. Just be prepared for a few late nights because you won't want to put it down!
