I've been using this steering wheel lock for a few weeks now, and it's been a bit of a rollercoaster. The idea of a keyless combination lock is fantastic—no more fumbling for keys in the dark. Setting up my own code was straightforward, and I appreciate the peace of mind knowing my car is a little safer from opportunistic thieves.
However, the installation process is where things get frustrating. The lower hook that’s supposed to secure around the brake pedal swivels way too easily, making it a hassle to position correctly. I’ve had to wrestle with it more times than I’d like to admit, especially when I’m in a hurry. The upper bar also requires more force than expected to close—sometimes I have to give it a firm tap to get it to lock into place.
Durability is another concern. After just a few uses, I noticed rust stains on the shaft, which isn’t exactly reassuring for something meant to protect my car. And while the code wheels are sturdy, they can get stuck if not aligned perfectly, which is annoying when you’re trying to unlock it quickly at night.
On the plus side, the lock feels solid once it’s properly secured, and the high-density sponge cover does protect my steering wheel from scratches. It fits most vehicles (my SUV included), and the emergency hammer feature is a nice touch—though I hope I never have to use it.
Overall, this lock does its job as a theft deterrent, but the design flaws make daily use more cumbersome than it should be. If you can overlook the quirks, it’s an okay option—just don’t expect perfection.
