Okay, so I just finished this intro to additive manufacturing (AM) thing and... wow? Like, I always thought 3D printing was just for making little plastic toys, but this opened my eyes!
The best part? It was FREE. Shoutout to OU for hooking us up with knowledge without emptying our wallets. There's even a free course that goes with it - talk about a full package deal.
What really clicked for me was how it explained the difference between rapid prototyping and actual AM. Before this, I would've used those terms interchangeably like a total newb (which I am, but less so now!).
If you're even slightly curious about how 3D printing actually works in industry, or why everyone's so hyped about AM changing manufacturing... do yourself a favor and check this out. Perfect starting point before diving into the deep end.
