Let's talk about the SummitLink Custom Body for Rustler 4X4. At first glance, it looks awesome – pre-painted with cool decals, ready to mount. But here's the real deal after testing it out.
The good: It definitely makes your RC truck stand out. The eagle design is sharp, and the pre-drilled holes actually line up perfectly with my Rustler 4X4. The extra stickers are a nice touch for customization.
Now the not-so-good: The plastic feels thinner than I expected. During my first test run, a minor rollover caused noticeable stress marks where the body mounts. Some users reported cracks right out of the box – I didn't have that issue, but can see how it might happen.
Installation tip: You MUST transfer your existing body cage (not included). This was confusing at first since product images don't show this clearly. Took me 20 frustrating minutes to figure this out.
Durability is questionable for aggressive bashing. It's fine for casual driving, but if you're into serious off-roading, this might not survive many hard crashes. The $40 price feels steep for what you get.
Final verdict? It's a decent cosmetic upgrade if you baby your RC car and want that custom look without DIY painting. But hardcore bashers should probably look for something more durable.
