Let me start by saying this: the REOLINK Argus 3 Pro is one of the better wireless security cameras I've tested, but it's far from perfect. Having used it for several weeks in different scenarios, here's my honest take.
The Good: The 5MP resolution is legitimately impressive. I could clearly see license plates and facial features from about 30 feet away during daytime. The spotlight feature works well - when it detected motion near my garage at night, the sudden illumination actually scared off a raccoon (and probably would deter human intruders too).
The Setup: Installation was surprisingly painless compared to other cameras I've tried. The magnetic mount made positioning a breeze - I moved it three times before settling on the perfect spot above my front door. Connecting to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi was smooth, though I noticed slightly better performance on the 2.4GHz band.
Battery Life Reality: Here's where things get iffy. With moderate activity (about 15-20 motion events daily), I got about 3 weeks before needing a recharge. That's decent, but far from the 'months' some manufacturers claim. The solar panel option seems like a must for long-term outdoor use.
Annoying Quirks: The delayed alerts (3-4 seconds) mean you're always slightly behind real-time events. At night, the frame rate drop is noticeable - movements appear slightly jerky compared to daytime footage.
The Verdict: For $150-$200, it's a competent camera that beats many competitors in video quality and setup ease. But if you need instant alerts or extended battery life without solar charging, you might want to keep looking.
