Let me start by saying I was hyped for this one. Bruce Willis on the cover, an FSK 18 rating, and a title that promises action – what could go wrong? Well, quite a bit, as it turns out.
The movie kicks off with the usual family drama to build emotional connections. But here's the thing: Bruce's character felt about as warm as a freezer. The whole 'happy family' setup just didn't land for me. And don't get me started on him playing a surgeon – that was about as believable as me becoming an astronaut tomorrow.
The first third of the film drags like a Monday morning. Then we get to the home invasion (you know, the one they advertise on the cover), and things should pick up, right? Wrong. What follows is a drawn-out, theatrical mess that feels more like a gun commercial than an actual movie. The message seemed to be: 'Police are slow – buy guns!' Subtle it was not.
By the end, I found myself checking my phone more than watching the screen. The plot's been done to death (pun intended), and there's zero surprises here. It's dark, sure, but mostly just dull.
Now about that 4K quality... Some scenes looked great, others? Not so much. It's like they forgot they were making a 4K release halfway through production.
Would I watch it again? Not unless someone pays me. Would I recommend it? Only if you're really into watching paint dry – with occasional gunfire.
