I recently took the High Eagle 4G Mobile WiFi Router on a road trip across the US, and here's my honest take.
The setup was straightforward—pop in a SIM card (make sure it's from a compatible carrier!), disable the PIN, and tweak the APN settings. The screen display is handy for checking signal strength and battery life. The 2400mAh battery lasted me a full day of intermittent use, which was impressive.
Performance-wise, it delivered decent speeds for streaming music and light browsing when I had strong LTE coverage (B2/B4 bands). But here's the catch: it struggled in rural areas, and one reviewer wasn’t wrong—it definitely doesn’t work outside the US. I also noticed occasional drops when connecting multiple devices (I maxed out at 6 before lag kicked in).
The pocket-sized design was perfect for tossing in my backpack, but the lack of roaming support stung during a brief Canada detour. If you’re strictly domestic and confirm carrier compatibility beforehand, it’s a solid budget hotspot. Just don’t expect miracles in dead zones or overseas.
