I couldn't put down Frozen Stiff by Patrick Logan. From the first page, I was hooked by Chase Adams' intense journey as a new FBI agent thrown into a chilling case in Alaska. The mystery of the brutal murders, with victims missing their feet, had me guessing until the very end.
One of the standout moments for me was when Chase touched one of the victims and experienced a surreal connection to the crime scene. It added a unique twist to the story and kept me on edge. The dynamic between Chase and Special Agent Martinez was intriguing, especially with his unexpected red parka gesture—small details like this made the characters feel real.
The pacing was perfect, with short chapters and quick flashbacks that kept the story moving. While I wished for more background on Chase, her growth throughout the book was satisfying. The plot twists were clever, though some parts felt predictable. The ending, however, was a complete surprise!
Despite a few editing hiccups and some unrealistic FBI procedures, Frozen Stiff delivered a gripping read. If you love crime thrillers with strong female leads and plenty of suspense, this book is worth your time. I’m already eager to dive into the next book in the series!
