I recently tried the Sacubee Rubber D Shape Door Seal Strip for my RV slide-out, and it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. The rubber itself is thick and feels premium—exactly what you’d want for sealing gaps against dust, noise, and water. It’s held up well in extreme temperatures, which is a huge plus for RV life.
But here’s the catch: the adhesive. Some users swear by it (one reviewer mentioned it stayed put for six months), but my experience was frustrating. Despite cleaning the surface with acetone, the strip peeled off within days. I ended up using weatherstrip adhesive as a backup, which worked, but it’s annoying to rely on extra supplies for what’s marketed as 'self-adhesive.'
Installation is otherwise straightforward—just cut, peel, and stick. The 6-foot length was perfect for my needs, and the D-shape design created a tight seal. It’s versatile too; I could see this working on car doors or even home windows.
However, shipping was a disaster for some buyers (kinked and twisted strips), so that’s a gamble. If you get a undamaged piece and don’t mind reinforcing the adhesive, it’s a solid product. Otherwise, proceed with caution.
