Let me start by saying this Smart WiFi Thermostat Plug is one of those products that makes you go 'this is brilliant... when it works.' I've been using it to control a space heater in my home office, and it's been a mixed bag of convenience and frustration.
The good: The temperature control is surprisingly precise when it works. I love being able to adjust settings from bed using the app (though the interface feels like it was designed in 2010). The voice control through Google Home is hit-or-miss but works about 70% of the time. The programmable schedules are legit useful - I have mine set to warm up my office before work hours.
The bad: Oh boy. Setup was an absolute nightmare. Like other reviewers, I struggled with disappearing WiFi networks and confusing instructions. The thermostat probe (that long dangly wire) is awkward - I ended up taping mine to a nearby shelf for accurate readings. And yes, that loud CLICK every time it switches on/off will make you jump at first.
Real talk - this thing has some quirks. Mine occasionally does that rapid on/off cycling mentioned in reviews, which seems questionable for device longevity. The temperature readings can be 2-3°F off compared to other thermostats in the room. And about once a week, it mysteriously drops offline requiring a reset.
Would I recommend it? With caveats. If you need basic temperature control for heaters or AC units and don't mind some technical tinkering, it's functional once set up. But if you want plug-and-play reliability, keep looking - this isn't quite there yet.
