Okay, so I finally upgraded my ancient thermostat to this Emerson Sensi Touch, and wow—what a difference! Here's my take after a few weeks of use.
Installation: Surprisingly easy for a tech-challenged person like me. The app literally holds your hand through the process. Had to fish a C-wire adapter through the wall (thanks, YouTube tutorials), but once that was done, it was smooth sailing.
App & Alexa: The Sensi app is *chef’s kiss*—way better than my friend’s Honeywell one. Remote adjustments? Check. Humidity control? Check. Locking the screen so my kid stops cranking up the heat? Double-check. Alexa integration works flawlessly too (though figuring out the right voice commands was a mini-adventure).
Design: Sleek AF. The backlit display looks modern, and the black finish blends with my walls. Temperature readings were off by a few degrees at first, but after a day, it calibrated itself perfectly.
Energy Savings: Not gonna lie, seeing those monthly usage reports is low-key motivating me to stop overcooling my house. It’s only been a month, but I’m already eyeing lower bills.
Gripes: WiFi setup was weirdly finicky—had to call support (shoutout to their patient rep). Also, no half-degree settings? Come on, Emerson. And EU folks: skip this; registration’s US/Canada only.
Verdict: 9/10. If your thermostat’s older than your pet goldfish, treat yourself to this upgrade.
