Okay, so I finally caved and bought this 'virtual aquarium' thing after seeing it all over my feed. Here's the real tea ☕️
First off - the fish are WEIRDLY realistic? Like, I caught myself worrying if they needed food before remembering they're plastic. The LED color changes are super soothing for my anxiety, but heads up - it does make a slight whirring noise.
Pro tip: USE DAWN DISH SOAP like the instructions say! My first try with generic detergent was a disaster - fish just clumped at the bottom like they were having a pool party. Added Dawn and suddenly they're doing synchronized swimming.
Size is perfect for my desk - big enough to be immersive but not overwhelming. Though fair warning: my cat has been staring at it for 3 hours straight and I'm slightly concerned about her mental health.
The background situation is... an adventure. After 20 minutes of swearing, I realized it goes on the OUTSIDE (why isn't this in bold letters??). Once figured out though, looks gorgeous.
Would I buy again? Yeah actually. It's oddly therapeutic and way easier than a real fish tank. Just don't expect absolute silence or perfection.
