Alright, so I finally got my hands on the WAVLINK AC1200 router, and here's the tea ☕.
Setup: Super easy! The Touchlink tech is legit—just tap and boom, WiFi ready. Even my grandma could do it (if she knew what WiFi was). The app gets hate, but it worked fine for me after connecting to the router first. No battery needed for settings? Big win for my clumsy unplugging-at-work habit.
Speed & Range: 90 Mbps up/down? Not bad! The 4 antennas + beamforming actually made my backyard BBQ Spotify playlist possible. But… streaming? Yikes. Hulu and Disney+ buffered like they were stuck in 2005. Swapped back to my old router, and suddenly no more pixelated Chris Hemsworth.
Annoyances: The web interface is stuck in smartphone mode (so much wasted space!). Parental controls? LOL, nope. And why does every setting change force a login refresh? Also, the "Turbo" button’s a mystery—does it summon a race car? 🏎️
Verdict: Great for basic use (Alexa army ✅), but power users might rage-quit. For $25 more, you could probably avoid these headaches.
