Let me start by saying the Anycubic Kobra 3 Combo is a beast when it comes to speed. That 600mm/s claim? It's real. I printed a Benchy in just over 11 minutes, and watching this thing move at full tilt is like witnessing a mechanical ballet - if ballet involved molten plastic.
The multicolor printing capability is where this printer shines. Being able to print in up to 4 colors opens up so many creative possibilities. However, be prepared for some material waste during color changes - I'm still tweaking my purge settings to find the sweet spot between clean transitions and conservation.
Assembly was surprisingly straightforward for a printer of this complexity. The included ACE Pro filament system is clever, keeping my materials dry and ready to print. Though I did notice some issues with filament binding inside the unit - printing some aftermarket spool guides helped tremendously.
Now for the not-so-great parts: The firmware can be temperamental. Like other reviewers, I've experienced issues with the printer forgetting its homing position between prints. And that auto-leveling system? It works well when it works, but requires frequent recalibration to maintain perfect bed adhesion.
The touchscreen interface is responsive but limited in functionality compared to competitors. And here's a big tip: Skip Anycubic's proprietary software entirely - Orca Slicer produces dramatically better results with this machine.
For beginners, there's definitely a learning curve here despite Anycubic's claims of being beginner-friendly. But once you get past those initial hurdles, the print quality at these speeds is genuinely impressive for the price point.
Would I recommend it? If you need speed and multicolor capability on a budget, yes - with caveats. Just be prepared for some tinkering and troubleshooting along the way.
