Okay, so I got this bird book for my kiddo who's suddenly obsessed with everything that flaps wings. Guess what? It's a HIT!
The illustrations are like wow - colorful, detailed, and just begging to be stared at. My kid spends hours pointing at different birds going 'Mom look! This one eats fish!' like they're discovering new continents.
What I didn't expect? How much *I* would learn too! Did you know some parrots can live up to 80 years? Now we joke about adopting a parrot that'll outlive us all.
The pages are thick enough that my toddler can turn them without ripping (miracle!), and the info is presented in these perfect little nuggets that keep short attention spans engaged. No boring paragraphs here!
Only downside? Now my kid wants to adopt every bird they see. Yesterday we had a serious negotiation about why we can't have a toucan in our apartment.
Seriously though - if you've got a nature-loving kid (or hey, if you're just a closet bird nerd yourself), this book is absolutely worth it. Five stars from this suddenly-bird-expert mom!
