After testing the REOLINK Argus 3 Pro for several weeks, I can confidently say it's one of the better wireless security cameras out there—but it's not without its quirks.
The Good: The 5MP QHD resolution is crisp, capturing details like license plates or facial features with ease. The motion-activated spotlight is a game-changer for nighttime monitoring, illuminating intruders in full color. Setup was a breeze—just scan the QR code and you're good to go. The dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz) ensures a stable connection, and the AI detection (human/vehicle/animal) drastically reduces false alarms compared to cheaper cameras.
The Not-So-Good: Battery life is inconsistent. In high-traffic areas, I had to recharge weekly, though low-activity zones lasted longer. The app is functional but laggy at times, with a 3-4 second delay on live feeds and Alexa integration being nearly unusable (18-second load times!). Nighttime frame rates drop noticeably, and the lack of motion zones is frustrating—you can't exclude busy areas like roads from triggering alerts.
Verdict: If you need a reliable, wire-free camera with excellent daytime clarity and smart detection, the Argus 3 Pro delivers. Just temper expectations for battery life and app responsiveness. For heavy-use areas, pairing it with the solar panel is a must.
