Let me start by saying these swim jammers are a hit with my 8-year-old. The UPF 50+ protection gives me peace of mind during those long summer swim practices, and the quick-dry fabric means we're not dealing with soggy car seats after lessons.
The fit is absolutely spot-on - we've tried countless brands where sizing was a guessing game, but these run true to size. My son particularly loves the bright colors (we got the electric blue) and says they feel 'like second skin' in the water.
However... (and this is a big however) we're on our second pair in four months. While they're comfortable and perform well initially, the chlorine resistance doesn't seem to hold up as promised. After about 2 months of regular use (3-4 times weekly), we noticed significant fading and some fabric thinning.
The flatlock seams are genius - no chafing during those two-hour swim meets. And that mesh liner? Total game-changer for comfort during flip turns. But I wish the durability matched the thoughtful design features.
For occasional use or short-term needs (like summer swim camp), these are fantastic. But if you've got a competitive swimmer logging serious pool time, you might want to consider them more of a seasonal purchase than long-term investment.
