Just finished 'The Last Nazi' and wow, what a ride! Andrew Turpin really knows how to blend history with heart-pounding action. The way he weaves real-world politics into the story makes it feel so authentic.
Joe Johnson is such a compelling protagonist - flawed but determined. Some of the plot twists had me raising an eyebrow (really, THAT many coincidences?), but the pacing was so fast I barely had time to question them!
What really stood out was the historical research. As someone fascinated by WWII, I appreciated how Turpin didn't shy away from the darker aspects while still delivering an entertaining thriller.
The chase scenes dragged a tiny bit in the middle, but honestly? By that point I was too invested in Joe's mission to care. That final confrontation gave me serious movie vibes - someone should option this for Netflix!
Already downloaded Book 2 because I need to know where Joe's story goes next. If you like your spy thrillers with a side of historical depth, this is definitely worth your time.
