Just installed these Bosch QuietCast ceramic brake pads on my 2015 Silverado, and wow – what a difference from the cheap semi-metallic ones I had before. The first thing I noticed was how quiet they are. No more embarrassing squeaks when pulling up to stop lights!
The stopping power feels incredibly smooth and controlled, especially in city traffic where I'm constantly tapping the brakes. My wheels stay noticeably cleaner too – that 'black brake dust' buildup is about 70% reduced compared to my old pads.
Installation was straightforward (took me about 90 minutes per axle), and all necessary hardware was included. The molded shim technology seems legit – no weird vibrations even during hard braking down steep hills.
Now for the big BUT... like other reviewers mentioned, the packaging is terrible. My box arrived with one corner torn open, and while the pads weren't damaged, it's disappointing for a premium product. Bosch really needs to address this.
After 3 months of daily driving (including towing a bass boat twice), they're holding up great with no fade issues. If they last as long as promised (Bosch claims 30-40k miles), these will absolutely be worth the price premium over store brands.
