Okay, so I just finished 'The Problem with Second Chances' and wow – my emotions are all over the place! Rylan and Calista's story hit me right in the feels.
First off, can we talk about how perfectly Piper Rayne writes second-chance romance? The way they kept finding their way back to each other through all those years... it's like that one couple everyone roots for but never seems to get timing right.
The soccer backdrop was *chef's kiss* – finally a sports romance where the woman is just as much an athlete as the guy! Though that injury scene had me clutching my imaginary knee. Ouch.
What really got me were those flashbacks. Normally I hate time jumps, but here they actually made sense? Like getting little puzzle pieces of their history that explained why they kept messing up in the present.
And can we appreciate Grandma Dori for a sec? Even from beyond the grave she's still playing matchmaker. Iconic.
The audiobook narrators killed it too – you could literally hear the heartbreak in their voices during that big fight scene. Might've ugly cried at my desk listening to that...
Only complaint? Took them WAY too long to figure their stuff out. Like girl, therapy exists! But hey, that's small town romance for you – everyone has to meddle before the HEA happens.
