Okay, so I just finished 'A Beautiful Couple' and wow... just wow. This book had me hooked from the first page! The twists and turns are insane - like, every time I thought I had it figured out, BAM! Another curveball.
The main characters Amanda and Paul are so messed up but in the best way possible. Their toxic marriage, the lies, the secrets... it's like watching a train wreck you can't look away from. And that hit-and-run scene? Chilling.
I will say though - some parts made me roll my eyes a bit. Like when they mentioned Pierre Cardin as high fashion? Girl, no. And don't get me started on that washing machine scene with the designer clothes - totally unrealistic!
But honestly? The good far outweighs the bad. The writing is sharp, the pacing is perfect (except for maybe a tiny lull in the middle), and that ending... controversial but I kinda loved how messy it was.
If you're into psychological thrillers with complex characters who make terrible decisions (and who doesn't love that?), this is 100% worth your time. Just maybe don't read it right before bed - I stayed up way too late finishing it!
