Just got these Autocare oil absorbing pads for my garage, and here's the real deal:
First off, they DO work - soaked up engine oil spills like a champ. The white color makes leaks super visible, which is great for spotting problems early.
BUT...don't believe the photos! These are way thinner than advertised. The whole stack looks substantial online, but in reality it's paper-thin layers. Not exactly 'heavyweight' as claimed.
They're surprisingly durable though - no tearing even when soaked. And they really do repel water while absorbing oil, which is perfect for my boat engine maintenance.
Price feels steep for what you get. They work well enough, but I've used thicker pads that hold more liquid for similar money.
Final verdict? Good performance if you manage expectations about thickness. Would buy again on sale, but might look for heavier alternatives next time.
